Reviews and pictures from Sietse's record collection
First time I heard this LP, which is actually a reissue from a limited cd-r release, I was quite disappointed. It made me long to Harem Of The Sundrum & The Witness Figg (5 Rue Christine/Soft Abuse, 2004, Time-lag, 2005) as never before. Or else his more experimental music together with The Vanishing Voice. Though after a few times the Americana outsiderss blues started to work again.
Well thought lyrics about religion (cynical at most times), black humor, alcohol and nihilism still seem to be the trademark. It is bitter, dark and funny. All at the same time.
Maybe not the best release by Wooden Wand, but this release is a true grower, which gives away its beauty after a few plays.
